Aloe marlothii is large single stemmed Aloe that can grow to 6m tall. It is native to South Africa where it is found in rocky areas and open plains.
The trunk is unbranched and usually covered with dead leaves. The grey green leaves are succulent and covered with short spines on the upper and lower surfaces as well as the margins.
During winter it produces a multi branched flower stalk with terminal racemes of orange to yellow and sometimes red flowers.
This is a large plant and make an attractive addition to larger rockeries.
