This tends to be sprawling shrub that spreads to 1 m. It is native to Western Australia and like so many plants native to WA it does not tolerant of wet or humid summers.
The leaves are pinnasect, the margin between the narrow lobes almost reaching the midrib; this gives the leaves a rather spiky appearance.
The leaves grow in whorls and flowers emerge from the centre of each whorl
During Autumn and Winter the flowers clusters yellow emerge from almost black buds.
In areas with dry summer this species can grow quite well, it does tend to become straggly and benefits from pruning to maintain its shape.
