Leptospermum rotundifolium is a medium size everygreen shrub with a spreading habit.
Grown for it amazing display of flowers in spring, the shrub can appear carpeted with flowers - it is one of the best flowering Leptospermum.
The leaves are small, shiny ,round with sharp tips and aromatic. The arching branches give the plant an elegance as they curve towards the ground and the leaves attached along each branch a neat denseness.
The flowers are small varying in colour from deep pink to white, they have the 5 petals that surround green centre edged with many stamen.
These is a plant that does best in temperate regions where it makes wonderful specimen plants. It will grow in sub- tropical areas but will produce many less flowers.
Prefers full sun but will tolerate slight shade and produce less flowers. It will tolerate 2nd line coastal conditions and once established frosts.
Can be used as a feature, screen, hedge or as part of a native garden. Make great cut flowers.
