Acacia pterocaulon is a small to medium size shrub, the many branches give it a rounded and sprawling appearance.
At first sight the branches appear flat and leafless, however closer inspection shows the phyllodes to be small and continuous with the branchlets.
During late spring and early summer racemes of golden fluffy ball shaped flowers are borne from the phyllode axils.
Grows well in dry and rocky areas so an interesting choice for rockeries.
