Dryandra quercifolia or The Oak Leaved Dryandra is a medium size shrub with a rounded growth habit. During autumn and winter lovely yellow flower heads are produced from orange buds which open out from a cone shape in spectacular fashion throughout winter.
The 10cms long leaves are a deep green, shiny, elliptical to obovate and toothed, very much in the style of Oak leaves. They emerge as a bronzy colour, changing to deep green as they mature.
This makes a wonderful addition to any well drained garden and also goes well in larger planters and tubs - providing they get plenty of sunshine.
A popular bloom for the cut flower trade.
