Darwinia oxylepis or Gillham's bell is a small and dense native shrub from WA with short branchlets covered in foliage that looks almost like small pine needles e.g. it is cylindrical and short, around 1mm across.
It produces very attractive, bell-shaped flowers in a deep carmine red colour throughout springtime. the blooms hand downwards and are rich with nectar.
This isn't well known in cultivation, though it does grow well in Sydney.
