Neomarica gracilis is a rhizomatous, herbaceous perennial, that grows up to 60cm in height.
Grows in clumps of bright green strap shaped leaves. In spring and summer produces masses of beautiful short lived flowers. The fragrant flowers are iris-like the outer tepals are white with orange/brown pattern at base; the inner tepals are purple with orange brown central markings.
Neomarica is also known as the walking iris, this is because pups are produced on tips of the flower stems, weighed down by the pup the stem bends over allowing the new plant's roots to grow into the soil and the plant to spread.
Easy to look after, great display in pots or along garden borders.
