Passiflora caerulea is a tropical climber, it is not grown for its fruit which is small, orange and rather bland to taste.
It is used commonly as root stock for grafting Passiflora edulis and it most often seen when the graft has failed and the suckering root stock has taken over.
The flowers are similar to Passiflora edulis consisting of 10 tepals, a corona of green filaments and a central column of 5 stamen and 3 stigma.
The leaves are different to Passiflora edulis tend to be 5 lobed.
If you are wanting a passionfruit for its flowers rather than its fruit then this is an option, it will do best in full sun and grows well along fences and trellises.
