Amsonia hubrichtii is a clumping perennial with lots of upright stems topped with clusters of pretty powdery blue star-like flowers.
It has a long flowering season from late spring through summer.
The height of the stems varies from 30 to 90cm depending on conditions. The stem have sparsely spaced mid-green lanceolate leaves. In Autumn they still add colour contrast as the leaves turn a wonderful yellow before dying down for winter.
For best results plant in a sunny position in groups, work really well in wider garden borders.
