Dampiera stricta is a suckering, perennial subshrub that makes a very good, colourful, ground cover that goes well in mixed sun and shade.
It produces attractive and delicate blue to violet, five petaled flowers from spring through most of summer and contributes well to mixed borders or as edging to pathways. Its suckering habit is also useful to fill awkward rockeries and adjoining areas.
They suit a wide range of garden styles from informal cottage gardens, drought resistant gardens, pots and planters and city courtyard gardens and they attract plenty of birds and bees to your garden.
The most popular cultivar is 'Glasshouse Glory' from Queensland.
