Chamaemelum nobile or Chamomile is a short lived perennial that has finely lobed, mid green leaves and open faced daisy-like flowers with white petals and a prominent yellow mound at the centre.
This is an informal and pretty garden plant that goes well in borders, rockeries and larger planters.
There is a dwarf or prostrate variant that can be grown as a lawn - it has added benefit of emitting a wonderful fragrance when walked over, though it tends to not be very hard wearing.
Chamomile is perhaps best known however as a useful herb that has a sedative effect when taken as an infusion.
