Sedum spurium 'Coccineum' is a moderately fast growing evergreen perennial with a mat forming habit. The dense foliage makes great groundcover especially in rockeries, because this does not grow as fast as some other low growing sedum this is a good choice for pots and planters.
Branching red stems bare rosettes of small fleshy spathulate /obovate leaves with a toothed margin. The leaves are mid green but turn a deep burgundy as they age. Clusters of small deep pink star-like flowers borne on short stems above the foliage in summer.
Although prefers full sun, will tolerate some shade. Sedum are a perfect choice for rockeries, they thrive in rocky conditions and will tolerate drought.
