Tibouchina heteromalla or the Glory Bush is a compact, spreading shrub that only reaches about one metre in height.
Erect stems rise up directly from the trunk base which bears ovate leaves that are downy in texture, green on top and whitish green underneath. In coolish climates they turn orange before dropping, though this plant is essentially an evergreen.
Five petalled violet coloured flowers are produced in terminal panicles which can be up to 20cms long.
Unlike other more common Tibouchina, this one flowers in summer and sometimes on into autumn.
they are warmer climate plants and do not like cold winters.
