Carex morrowii Variegata or Japanese variegated Sedge, is an attractive perennial grass that forms a neat mound.
It has handsome, slender striped green and yellow leaves and produces insignificant greenish flowers in late spring to early summer - but it is really grown for its attractive foliage.
This is a sturdy and relatively upright Sedge, looking particularly good in spring when it seems to spring to life.
Japanese Sedge goes very well in rock gardens and as an accent in mixed borders. It can be used as a groundcover, or in the rocks around pools and goes well in the dappled light under trees.
