Fraxinus angustifolia or the Narrow Leafed Ash is an attractive, pyramidal shaped, deciduous tree with handsome, divided, elliptic, mid green leaves that grow in whorls of 3-4 and make for good autumn colouring before they fall.
It has rather inconspicuous flowers over winter when the branches are otherwise bare, followed by winged seeds.
The Desert Ash is a popular street tree and due to its heavy seed production can be invasive - so purchase a sterile plant to avoid contributing to the problem.
