Rosa 'Queen of Sweden' has exquisite little buds that open to half-enclosed cups, eventually becoming wide, shallow, upward-facing cups of pleasing formality.
The colour begins as soft-apricot pink, gradually changing to pure soft pink over time. There is a lovely myrrh fragrance and it forms a bushy, yet upright shrub around 90cms x 90cms and will repeat flower throughout the season.
Named to commemorate the Treaty of Friendship and Commerce between Sweden and Great Britain, it was created byDavid Austin in 2004.
About David Austin Rose Group:
David Austin Roses are one of the most sought-after of the modern hybrid English Roses. They are distinguished by their very elegant cupped flowers of medium size which are often complex and ruffled, redolent of the Old Garden roses in looks.
The growth is upright but bushy and very vigorous, with shiny, pale green, disease-resistant leaves.
Most varieties within this group are strongly fragrant, adding to their attraction.
It is without doubt an absolutely splendid rose group in every respect, though they can become leggy (straggly) and grow rather tall in warmer climates.
