Brachyglottis greyi are hardy plants and will go well in coastal areas, maturing into sprawling bushes.
They have very attractive, discolour foliage (different shades of green top and bottom) and will eventually take on a more broader than higher shape.
The foliage is greyish with the undersides of the leaves and stems being covered in white down.
However it is the flowers that most gardeners cultivate this plant for which are spectacular with branching heads of brilliant yellow daisy-flowers that completely cover the plant when in full bloom.
The best known cultivar is "Sunshine" which was bred in Dunedin, New Zealand.
They will go well in any informal garden settings including Mediterranean styles, but particularly well in dry gardens where they will perform very well.
These wonderfully attractive and versatile plants are becoming more popular, though still require some searching for.
