Mussaenda erythrophylla is a rambling shrub to small tree and grows best in warmly temperate or subtropical areas and is semideciduous in cooler parts.
They can grow to 10m in the wild but tend to be more compact in general cultivation.
Their naturally produce multiple stems and has silky, hairy, soft medium-green leaves.
What appear to be flowers are in fact brightly coloured bracts with much smaller flowers in the centre. These will bloom for most of spring through summer. v The bracts can be seen in reds and pinks with some pure white as well.
