Primula florindae, the Giant or Tibetan Primula is one of the largest and most fragrant species of Primula. This is a plant that does well in shaded gardens and will tolerate damp soil.
During summer umbels of pretty, fragrant, yellow flowers, bell-like in shape with a drooping habit grow from the top of tall sturdy flower stems.
The leaves tend to be upright and grow dense rosettes around the flower stem. They tend to be long stalked and broadly ovate to oval in shape with serrated edges.
These are lovely plants for a summer garden, flowering once most of the other Primula species have finished.
Excellent addition to a cottage or woodland garden and a good choice to plant in semi shaded areas especially around ponds or next to stream.
