Epidendrum centropetalum, otherwise known as The Spur-Like Gland Epidendrum, is a small to medium, epiphytic orchid that is native to Central American elevated forests.
As such it prefers temperatures between 14-23C, high humidity for most of the year and plentiful access to water during the growing and flowering months.
It has delicate stems that can produce plantlets all along them and produces linear to lanceolate leaves that are glossy and around 2-9 cm long.
It will bloom on a terminal inflorescence producing unscented flowers that are around 1.5-2.0 cm in diameter and mid mauve in colour with a white centre, making an attractive contrast.
