Jubaea chilensis (sometimes referred to as Jube) is a single-trunked palm tree with smooth grey bark and pinnate-leaves that are dull green on top and greyish underneath.
It grows up to 20-25m with the trunk being the broadest of all palms, generally around a metre in diameter, often widest in the upper part of the trunk.
These are very hardy to cooler climates and can withstand temperatures as low as -9c, but they are rather slow growing initially.
They can be found in many countries around the world where the climate suits its needs.
