Rhododendron moulmainense or Westland's Rhododendron is a common but variable species from Southern China that is evergreen with 10cm long eliptical and leathery foliage.
In springtime it produces umbels of fragrant flowers in groups of two or four blooms that can be either white or pink with an orange spotted throat.
A beautiful shrub, it makes a great addition to woodland gardens, going well under trees or as a backdrop to a shaded border or shrubbery.
