Burchellia bubalina or the Wild Pomegranate is a rounded to straggly, densely leafed, slow growing, evergreen shrub from southern Africa that bears very attractive orange flowers in springtime.
The inflorescences are terminal, bearing several fragrant, tubular flowers, with outward curling lips surrounding the protruding yellow stamen.
Foliage is ovate, mid to dark green and veined in appearance.
An open and somewhat rangy plant it will suit shrubberies or mixed borders.
