Posoqueria longiflora is a tropical rainforest shrub or small tree that features attractive, large, glossy dark green foliage and incredibly fragrant, tubular white flowers are are extremely long and thin, opening out at the mouth with recurving petals. The scent is said to be similar to Gardenia e.g. very sweet and be at its most intense in the evening and night-time.
This flower is believed to be pollinated by the Hawkmoth which (necessarily) has an extremely long proboscis.
Being tropical, they like humidity and plenty of sunlight, though some dappled shade is well tolerated.
This is a good patio specimen, though a good sized planter or tub will be required to see it at its best.
