Asystasia travancorica is a fast growing shrubby perennial from India that makes an excellent groundcover.
It has long, pointed, shiny foliage that covers unsightly ground very well. It also drapes well from hanging baskets.
The dainty blue to purple flowers are held aloft on spikes and bell shaped with darker throats.
This is an unusual plant, not cultivated extensively but should be as they can be quite drought tolerant.
