Arenaria dyris is a ground hugging and hardy, low growing perennial with a dense mat-like habit made up of grey-green leaves forming mounds 5 to 15cm high.
Clusters of white flowers are borne on stems which are held only slightly above the foliage so when in full bloom the flowers can almost obscure the foliage completely.
This pretty, alpine plant is very frost hardy and an excellent addition to rock gardens, containers and for filling out small crevices and rock ledges, though it is best suited to cooler climates.
