Artocarpus elasticus or the Terap is a tall forest tree widely cultivated in tropical climates.
Its young leaves have prominent pointed lobes while the larger leaves of mature trees are leathery and oval in shape.
The Terap produces an edible fruit and seeds that are surrounded by a foul smelling pulp.
The seeds are said to taste like tangy marshmallows and are prized foods for monkeys and squirrels.
