Waterhousea floribunda or the Weeping Lily Pilly is a very attractive native ornamental medium to large tree that originates from rainforests.
Due to its size it is best suited to medium to larger gardens, farms and parks where it is prized as a source of good, dense shade.
It is often seen planted as a street tree as it is tolerant of urban conditions.
The lush foliage has wavy edged, pointed leaves and the branches have a delightful weeping habit. The leaves start off a pinky colour, turning to shades of green as they mature.
Typically Myrtaceae family flowers (like Eucalypts and Corymbias) are produced throughout summer in pale cream, making a good contrast with the deeper green foliage. The following fruits are pink to green in colour.
It will produce foliage over its full height making it ideal as a screen, while being especially good for softening fence-lines.
