Buddleja salvifolia is a large semi-evergreen shrub with open habit, it grows from 4-8m.
The branches are long, drooping and tend to make the plant look rather untidy.
The leaves are rough and grey green in colour, resembling sage leaves. The mauve to purple flowers have a wonderful perfume and are are borne in terminal panicles in summer. The flowers attract bees and butterflies.
