Yucca rostrata or the Beaked Yucca is an extremely attractive small tree (actually a Perennial with a trunk) with rosettes of foliage on top that look like pom-poms.
Leaves are long and arching, blueish-grey-green and sharp tipped.
They are perfect for ornamental situations having very architectural outlines and exceptionally attractive trunk coatings (notice I don't use the word bark). Looking rather like an Armadillo.
In springtime yellow-orange flower stalks emerge which rise above the foliage to display their large clusters of white flowers.
They are normally single trunked but have been known to branch - making them even more attractive.
A very versatile plant that can withstand very hot and dry conditions but also survive -10c temperatures.
