Actinidia deliciosa or the Kiwi Fruit is a deciduous vine that produces large plum shaped fruits that have furry green/brown skins and wonderfully refreshing green pulp inside.
The leaves are oval, mid green and also furry and the flowers are pale yellow and five petalled.
It prefers a warmer, moist climate and must have another vine of the opposite gender close by in order to produce fruit.
Farmed on a massive scale in New Zealand, they are well suited to these southern hemisphere latitudes and are equally at home in Australia.
