Gladiolus nanus hybrids are spectacular and tend to be easier to grow than the Grandiflorus hybrids.
The plant itself is more compact and the flowers are smaller and more loosely packed along the flower spike.
The flower stems tend not to grow as tall as the Grandiflorus hybrids and are therefore better suited to pots and planters or tight corners.
The plants are also hardier than the grandflorus hybrids.
Plant in groups or rows to maximise the impact of the colourful flowers.
They also make excellent cut flowers and are a great addition to any flower arrangement.
