Carpobrotus rossii - Native Pigface is very similar to the Pigface seen growing in sand along the East Coast of Australia.
This is a low spreading succulent growing to 10cm tall and up to 3m wide. Pink open flowers in summer and winter, spot flowerings at other times.
Grows best in a well drained, sunny location. This is a hardy plant that will tolerate drought, second line salt conditions, lime, moderate frosts and even fire.
The long flowering season makes them a colourful addition to coastal garden beds or across rocky and/or sloping areas. They are used successfully in erosion control.
