Any suggestions on killing stink bug beatles in my orange tree.
There are two types of citrus stink bugs - the Bronze Orange Bug and the Spined Citrus Bug (Biprorulux bibax) - both are damaging and spray an awful smelling liquid which can be dangerous if it gets in the eyes.
The best remedy is to pick them off with long handled BBQ tongs (whilst wearing protective gloves and goggles) or if you have an old vacuum cleaner (I wouldn't use your best one) you can vacuum them off. On a very hot day they will all gather around the lower trunk of the tree making it very easy to pick them off all in one easy go.
You can spray with Pestoil. Yates have a 'Nature's Way Citrus and Ornamental' spray but that's just Canola Oil and pyrethrins - and its the oil that gets to the orange bugs and makes them fall off the tree. You should them squash them, leaving the carcasses for the birds to eat.
The photo below shows the four stages of Bronze Orange Bug growth from freshly emerged from the egg to fully grown.
