What do I do to preserve my Gladiola bulbs for the winter. Everytime I try, they either dry out or they get mouldy. I have put them in plastic case in my garage (they get moldy) and I have hung them in a bag in the basement (they dry out)..
Hey there JW - just let them dry out - thats what's supposed to happen. Then when you put then back in the ground they will take up new moisture and start to grow again.
Its best to lay them out on some netting in a dry area so that the air dries them slowly and evenly. Then put them in a cotton bag and hang them up (as you have done) until you are ready to replant them.
