Hi,
What are we doing wrong?(please find attached before and after photos).
Our Palmetto lawn is looking terrible. We have had plenty of rainfall and everyone else in our street has green lawn except us.
We are afraid of losing our lawn altogether.
We purchased and lay our lawn in September last year.
And now it looks like this.
Desperately need some help!!!
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Regards
Anthony Priemus
Unfortunately only one photo has come through and I am guessing it is new laid lawn as it looks great.
Too much water and poor drainage can be a problem especially in winter. The grass is not growing as fast so taking up the water. The thatch can remain wet and start to rot which encourages fungal diseases. In winter allow the soil to dry out, with the amount of rain we have had this winter you shouldn't need to water at all. As the days warm up the grass should begin to improve.
It is always getting an expert to look at the lawn, they can identify the problem by looking at the patterns created by the dying grass and advise on your best course of action based on your soil type and local conditions.
