Hey Jenny, orchids are the easiest to keep providing
#1. they have good indirect light but don't get too much direct sunlight,
#2. are kept out of cold drafts but have good airflow around them
#3. and you give them a drink every now and then.
The best way to water them is to immerse them in a bowl of water for five minutes with a weak solution of orchid food in it. Let them drain and return to their position.
Otherwise its good to wipe any dust off the leaves if required and check the roots now and again.
Its vital to keep the roots well drained, so potting them in a mix of bark and sphagnum moss will ensure good drainage while the moss will keep some small amounts of moisture available to the roots without them rotting. If you find any old and rotting roots then trim them off with some scissors and re-pot.
