Make sure the ground is well drained first - if not sure then soak it with a hose for an hour or more and see what happens.
If boggy then lay some agricultural pipe - its flexible, plastic and covered in a soft cloth stocking. Bury it 20cms under the surface, preferably surrounded by blue metal.
Then apply a 10cms layer of 80/20 sand and soil mix, get it from your landscape supplier and rake/walk it flat.
Get a roller and go over it again and then roll out your turf.
Make sure you water it well every day for a couple of weeks and then twice a week until absolutely set. And there you have it - a great lawn. Then all you'll need to do it to keep it well watered, fertilised and mown.
