Tap Root
Has one primary root that develops from the seed and lateral roots that grow from the primary root. The roots can become thicker and woody.

An underground storage organ, part of either the stem or the root of the plant. Stem tubers produce multiple buds on their surface from which shoots may grow the following season, while root tubers will sprout only from the point at which they were attached to the stem of the parent.
