Acacia howittii is a shapely small tree with an attractive, slightly weeping habit.
Small dark green leaves are contrasted with small, fluffy, bright yellow flowers in spring.
The leaves give off a sticky substance that is aromatic on warm days but it is not good planted close to pathways as it leaves dark stains that are difficult to remove.
However this fast grower makes a good thick screen and is attractive for its foliage and form.
N.B. like most wattles it is relatively short lived.
