This is a bushy shrub-like perennial that is often used as an annual because it's so short-lived.
Oval leaves with pointed tips are born on the plant and they are a matt-green colour and slightly sticky to the touch.
The flowers come in varying shades from and intense purpley-blue through to white.
The flowers are vibrant and quite large (up to 5cms in diameter)and are a spectacular feature of this plant.
This is quite a showy perennial that looks great in cottage gardens, pots and missed plantings.
NB. They can be grown indoors in colder, frost prone areas.
