Ferocactus glaucescens are spherical in shape with prominent spiny ribs and funnel-shaped yellow flowers in summer.
Plants are slow-growing to start, but they are easy to grow and require little care once they have reached a good flowering size.
Multiple heads are sometimes produced as the plant ages and can form a very large mound.
They make a great statement especially when surrounded by a good contrasting gravel, looking quite stately with their well-fed and rounded proportions.
