Acacia glaucoptera is a prostrate shrub with straggling habit growing to about 1m tall and wide.
The foliage is quite unusual and attractive. The phyllodes are blue green in colour, they are flat, winged shaped cladodes. The new growth is a wonderful orange /red colour, as the leaves mature they become blue green with a red tinge.
The round fluffy flowers emerge from the central stem during the spring. The seeds pods are twisted and form rosettes along the foliage.
This unusual Acacia variety is grown for its striking foliage and makes an interesting addition to rockeries and shrubberies.
