Aloe plicatilis, commonly known as Fan Aloe, is a striking succulent shrub characterized by its unique fan-shaped arrangement of leaves.
Its growth habit forms a dense cluster of erect, narrow leaves (each around 30cms long) that fan out from the center of the plant, creating an architectural and sculptural appearance.
The leaves are thick and fleshy, with serrated edges, and they typically have a blue-green coloration and the leaf tips can sometimes change to orange.
It flowers in late winter to early spring with tall spikes carrying bright red, tubular shaped flowers that are rich in nectar and will attract a variety of birds and insects to your garden.
When young it is fascinating while when more established it can be quite imposing
