Agastache mexicana is a tough perennial plant that has brilliant spikes of red-purple whorled flowers. These can be used in flower arrangements, as cut flowers they last well or the leaves give a lovely lemon scent and taste to a cuppa!
It prefers dry, full sun position, protect from snails (they love it!) and keep well watered until established. Will flower from early summer through to autumn.
Being abundantly floriferous they are attractive to birds, bees and butterflies, they go well when planted en masse in borders and especially well in pots on the patio, bringing their lovely foliage fragrance close to where it will be appreciated.
