Agave parryi or Parry's Agave, is an elegant succulent perennial with dark grey to green leaves that curl in on themselves and feature one viscous reddish-brown spine at the tip.
Indentations of the lower leaf remain on the leaf undersides due to the presence of a whitish bloom which records the lower leaf pattern - it's an attractive look.
This is a great sculptural plant for courtyard gardens and other dry landscaping designs as long as you keep them away from close proximity with humans - due to the sharp spikes.
An added bonus is that they are frost hardy.
Each plant will produce just one flower stalk in its lifetime, usually after ten years, towering up to four metres in height and carrying bright yellow flowers that are tinged with orange when budding.
