Luculia grandiflora is a large and bushy deciduous shrub.
It has very attractive broad, oval, light green leaves with red veins, which turn gold/purple in autumn.
The flowers are highly perfumed, salverform shaped and soft pinky/white. They appear in large clusters during the summer
They will only tolerate the lightest frosts, so unfortunately these cannot be planted in frost prone areas.
This beautiful small tree or shrub will grow happily all the way up to the tropics. Although it can get up to 6 metres tall in it's native forests, in most gardens it won't grow more than 3 meters tall.
