Acer saccharum or the Sugar Maple is a hardy, pale barked. deciduous tree with attractive, low branching, pear shaped outline.
The distinctive deeply lobed leaves turn to raging gold and crimson in autumn.
This is the emblem tree of Canada and also produces Maple Syrup as well as mighty fine timber.
These are medium to large trees and require larger gardens or parklands to be grown and seen at their best.
