Lamium galeobdolon or Trailing Jade is a frost hardy, low growing, mat forming perennial that thrives under trees creating an attractive carpet of green and silver splashed, triangular foliage.
In summer it produces vibrant spikes of bright yellow flowers.
It is a member of the mint family and spreads by rhizomes - sometimes uncontrollably, so take care to keep it contained.
It has been noted that in the Dandenongs in Victoria this plant has become invasive in country areas and that gardeners should think twice about cultivating it unless they can absolutely keep it contained.
