Antheum graveolens or Dill is an annual, herbaceous plant with feathery blue green leaves on stiff yet slender stems.
Often visually confused with Fennel, it makes a large contribution to the culinary arts being a great dressing for salads and fish while the seeds are used in pickling.
It bears yellow, domed top flowers in summer followed by pungent seeds in autumn.
Dill is often planted close to tomatoes or carrots as a pest deterrent.
They go as well in herb gardens as they do in mixed borders.
